FACTAVELLE / editorial standards

Evidence before volume.

Our publishing standard is useful, original synthesis with a traceable source trail.

Sources and corroboration

Use primary records where available and credible secondary reporting. Multiple outlets repeating one wire report are one reporting chain. Multiple documents from one organization do not establish independent verification. Institutional announcements are explicitly attributed to their issuer.

Original value

Each article must explain the new development, relevant background, implications, uncertainty and next decision points. We do not merely paraphrase another publisher. No fabricated quotes, expert reactions, statistics or firsthand reporting.

Higher-risk coverage

Health and finance claims require stronger corroboration, explicit limitations and no personalized advice. Allegations, politics and casualty reporting require independent support and careful attribution. Material contradictions hold publication until resolved; a numerical confidence score alone is not a fact check.

Updates and corrections

Material changes retain the original publication date and canonical URL. A dated revision note explains the change. We do not refresh timestamps for cosmetic changes or publish duplicate event pages to manufacture freshness.
